I had offered to drive, out of an instinctive disbelief of this claim, but that offer was rejected, and my instincts were sadly proved correct.Driving far too close to the cars in front at motorway speeds, late to react to slowing traffic, poor lane discipline, leaving large gaps in slow moving traffic when approaching green traffic signals in the city centre, even slowing down when there was a clear opportunity to beat the light change, just a complete lack of awareness and ability. Seemingly completely unable to talk and drive at the same time without losing focus on the task at hand. And yet outraged by those who inconvenienced him by driving in a similar manner, to the point of leaning on the horn. I have a horror of passengering and observing this type of driving, and found myself having to bite my tongue in order to not make myself unpleasant. Lesson learned, trust your instincts. Life is too short to put yourself in this situation. I'd rather not go than endure st like this.Hence, I never, ever be a passenger in the wife's car!
