Saw a nice one the other day on a black Range Rover I think. But it doesn’t seem to match.Looked like 1 OVE

I wonder why The younger generation won't know a time before computers, but many years ago Councils would be in controls of plates and the DVLA records when they started weren't the best. For example when O 2 was originally issued it was assigned to a Singer motorbike, they remained together and were sold in 1935 but the bike was needing restoring. When the owner finally got around to taxing the vehicle after restoring it became apparent that O 2 was reissued in the 1950's because Birmingham assumed the Singer was scrapped although there were no records to indicate this.In a situation like this the issuing authority would make an offer of a similar quality plate as compensation. In the case of O 2 and the Singer it's not known what that plate was.1 N was never auctioned (neither was 2 P), so knowing how they worked back when it can be most likely be assumed that DVLA issued both plates as compensation for other lost plates. Unfortunately the history can't be confirmed as DVLA like quoting GDPR.There is a complicated family story behind 1 N that kept it hidden away for two decadesThanks for this information.
