Other than its unexotic manufacturer, I ve never heard of grumbles as I say. And having an unexotic but reliable manufacturer was a plus in my view rather than the reliability concerns of in house small firm production (see also TVR ). First time I ve heard doesn t rev high enough or any other real criticisms. It s not a case the engine is the star, 100%, but it seems to do a decent enough job to me, albeit needs the supercharger or otherwise the performance is lacklustre. Haven t even seen a YouTube review of a V6 lotus where the engine has been panned. No problem with those who do deem it a poor engine, just cannot say it s something I ve ever heard before in all the years lotus have used it in the Evora, exige and Emira. Indeed,in my Evora GT410 Sport it revs to 7000 ( not sure what more you need in a road car),with the Komotec pack the torque is very flat and it’s also the second best sounding performance car I’ve owned out of four V8 /S6 TVR’s,two Nobles,a HSV GTS-R and only bettered by a Maserati Granturismo MC-Shift.That said it does feel strangled in the Emira compared to Evora but it just feels like it’s just reasons to pick holes again.
