cerb4.5lee said: I was impressed regarding the fuel thing in the Caterham to be honest, granted I only did 40 miles(and I was driving it hard at times), but the fuel gauge didn't hardly move! So I'm definitely not use to that at all in comparison to a lot of other cars that I've had over the years for example. So it just shows how much of a benefit light weight is in terms of that I think. Yep, makes a huge difference on cars with no regen capability being driven with lots of acceleration and braking - the amount of petrol you have to burn to get up to speed increases in proportion to the mas

It has more torque, performance and toys than the average EV SUV. It is also plenty quiet enough. It is apparently sub 6 to 60. An EV of similar price to your X5 40d will drive smoother, feel quicker, be much quieter and have a higher spec.E.g the iX60 produces more torque, it ll be there instantly not in a short power band, is around 4 seconds to 60 and certainly won t sound like a tractor This iX60? The one that costs £111K to get into (to match my spec)? The one with the minging front and cartoon wheels? The one about 1 sec faster to 60 and limited to 124mph? And with a range half that of the 40D?https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-driven/2025-bm...Forgive me if I need a bit of convincing. The new iX 60 costs from £90k, the same as an X5 40d To match your spec? What, your X5 comes standard with an electro closing pano glass roof, Bowers & Wilkins audio, massage cooled vented seats and laser headlights ? It probably doesnt even have radar cruise as standard.Plus you were talking about driving, now how it looks [But there are 7 different wheel designs to choose from ]I get it, you thought your X5 was the pinnacle of driving, it maybe was 10 years ago (for an SUV), not anymore. These days a £40k Chinese EV makes it dated.Edited by SDK on Wednesday 9th September 08:15 I was using the Pistonheads feature. Yeah, it has radar cruise. And a telly. Three, if you count the ones in the back. And a few other things. It doesn't have a wk Chinese badge on it though or look like a kid drew it. Poverty spec really:You missed the point - all of that good stuff is optional..You're clamming a iX needs to costs £111k to meet the standard spec of a base X5, then post up a long list of kit that is optional on the X5 - doh !"The one that costs £111K to get into (to match my spec)?" What's the cost

Lovely ready and I love your choice!! The E60 was one of the best M5s I ever had - On road and track Use it, and enjoy every moment of the magnificent engine!! I did more track days in my E60 than all my other cars in the past combined I would hazard a guess at. So many fond memories. My advice, put a decent set of brakes on it, I ended up with 12 Piston Calipers and 400mm rotas with all the track days I did and it really transformed it and the confidence it gave to the car.

I'm very observant when driving or walking, the other day I walked my son to school alongside a busy road, I reckon 80% of the cars that passed me were looking down at phones. I had a van pull out on me on a roundabout a few months ago and then slam his brakes on, phone clearly visible so I submitted the footage to TVP and to my surprise they sent me a letter confirming a prosecution. The amount of times I've had to swerve recently because of cars swerving onto my side of the road is diabolical.

I think it is a shame to lose one of the distinctive features of the 944 (the wrap around rear screen).Proportions from rear three-quarters are also a bit too Scimitar for my taste but each to their own.

Love shooting brakes where the change doesn't detract from the original or adds something like the Z3 "clowns shoe"or this:but a thought, they've modified the " chassis"or monocoque, so i this ry would it have to go through IVA
