I love the concept of needing £170k to pay for a car that will look like a really good example of one you could get for £10k. I suppose that in many ways it's the same as a Savile Row suit; let's pay £6k for something handbuilt and super-exclusive, that looks like it could have been bought for a tenth of the price. Or explaining to one's significant other that it is really better than buying a new car for the same price.

A 240Z 'Super Samuri' would do me just fine.Edited by mjspencer348 on Tuesday 25th August 12:16 That looks terrible, worse than a standard car. The samurai stuff is just smoke and broken mirrors The 240Z Super Samuri (correct spelling) was a proper performance upgrade; 190bhp (+40), suspension, brakes, wheels and tyres. The matt black bonnet isn't stock, most were painted gold, but could be easily repainted. The rear spoiler is a period modification. Each to their own, but as a weekend toy this would tick a lot of boxes for me at £60k.In reality the 'Super Samuri' conversion was a moveable feast, very rarely conforming to a fixed spec and much depending on what the customer could afford at any point and what was on the shelf. Suspension could be anything from cut down stock springs on up. Plenty of cars got a 'ported' head (sometimes ported on the car...) a reprofiled cam, a Mangoletsi inlet manifold and triple 40mm carbs (Dell'Orto or Weber, depending on whose bill hadn't been paid that month). There were a handful of cars that were really good and well developed, but also a lot of lesser versions.Rear spoiler was stock equipment on official UK market 'HS30U' 240Z and 'RS30U' 260Z models, matched with Urethane front spoiler as part of the 'Final Euro' aero package developed by Nissan to suit higher average speeds on UK and European motorways, combating front end lift and cross-wind instability. Higher spring and damper rates also part of that package.

(I have a 911 turbo S, it has all the huff and puff to keep EV's firmly in the rear view mirror..)At least if you wear crocks in public, they allow your soul to slowly flow out of the holes, EV's take it away from you when you make some form of argument about any benefits or reason for owning one....Rant over, ready

Such a shame to see what has become of the Volvo brand specifically. They used to make some great, functional, comfortable interiors. Hard to believe now, but they had a reputation for safety as the pioneered things like seatbelts and crumple zones while keeping things very ergonomic, allowing the driver to concentrate on the road ahead.Edited by ducnick on Wednesday 19th August 09:37
