증상
타이어 교체 시 딜러가 휠 얼라인먼트가 필요하다고 계속 주장함. 차량은 3년식이고 주행거리 10,000마일로 거의 사용하지 않음. 스티어링 휠이 중앙에 있고, 한쪽으로 끌리지 않으며, 타이어 마모가 의심스럽지 않아 보임. 딜러의 주장이 부정직한 것 같음.
처리 내용
타이어 컵핑(cupping) 여부를 직접 진단하는 방법: 타이어 트레드의 외측 끝을 손가락으로 가볍게 터치하면서 원주 방향으로 한 방향씩 훑어봅니다. 한 방향으로는 타이어가 손을 집어당기지만 반대 방향으로는 부드럽다면 컵핑 현상이 있는 것입니다. 시각적 확인보다 손으로 느끼는 것이 더 정확합니다. 새 타이어 장착 후 휠 얼라인먼트를 받는 것이 권장됩니다. 타이어는 비용이 많이 드는 투자물이므로, 잘못된 얼라인먼트는 타이어 수명을 단축시킵니다. 현재 증상(스티어링 센터링, 쏠림 없음, 타이어 마모 없음)이 없다면 긴급하지 않지만, 새 타이어 구입 시에는 얼라인먼트 확인을 권장합니다.

Been and collected it this lunchtime after another test drive and I read the codes whilst out & about and thankfully zero issues Will collect the 18" alloys & winter tyres ASAP and then sell the 403Ms off; they've just been refurbed but a) I don't like them that much, b) not a fan of black wheels at all and c) the RFTs are crap Parts already been ordered (OEM velour mats and M Sport grilles via Cotswolds BMW) and a full oil & filter change kit etcThe parts list will continue to grow haha
