As a car its probably the least desirable thing on the road, but for some who just want a basic who gives a fk commuter or a rough and ready second car for dirty jobs like going to the dump one of these ticks a lot of boxes.Its a good shed choice.

Amazed at some of the hatred for this car I've had a 987 Boxster, an Alpine A110, an Abarth 695 Competizione, a Mustang 5.0 GT, MX5 ND amongst other decent cars and tons of motorbikes and I'm very fond of the 3 years with my Duster. I wasn't expecting much when I first got it but it turned out to be a brilliant and useful vehicle and was my daily for 18k miles. I didn't, and neither did my passengers, ever find it uncomfortable for long journeys, it sipped fuel, happy to sit at 80 on the motorway yet could happily deal with a bit of soft roading, never had to worry about where I had parked it, turned into a van when needed and very hard wearing. A good clean before I sold it and it still looked brand new, not even a stone chip. Driving something worth so little that barely lost me £1200 in depreciation after 3 years was quite uplifting. Being only £10,500 when new meant that even if written off, I could never lose anymore than I have lost in a year or two with more expensive cars when sold on. I do like getting the best out a car that doesn't handle like a racecar yet still manages to embarrass a few people in performance stuff. If you truly enjoy driving, you'll love a Duster
