I know these articles always end up with comments just about the price but it's very hard not to end up there when the price is by far the most remarkable thing about this car. And it's not about comparing it to newer cars. The Elise market is big enough that you can compare it to plenty of its equivalents. The price is so extraordinarily high that you'd be forgiven for thinking it is an error. I don't think I have ever seen a four cylinder Elise/Exige priced anywhere near this. The car itself is nice enough (though I'm no particular fan of black cars so wouldn't be for me) but it's not especially remarkable. There is a 'boggo' Elise SC on Autotrader at the moment for £25k with 50k miles on it. Could you justify another £55k for black paint, some gold stripes and 17k fewer miles on the clock. Crazy!
