증상

1997 쉐보레 서버번에 월마트에서 새 타이어를 장착했는데 기존 타이어와 다른 사이즈가 장착되었을 가능성이 있음. 스페어 타이어는 245/75R16이며 운전석 도어 패널의 타이어 규격 스티커에도 동일한 사이즈가 표기되어 있음. 스페어 타이어의 권장 공기압은 45 PSI이나 구매한 타이어의 최대 공기압은 44 PSI. 현재 장착된 타이어가 규격 타이어와 다를 경우 문제가 될지 여부와 스페어를 사용하여 장거리(약 480km) 주행 시 안전성에 대한 우려.

처리 내용

현재 상황은 플러스 제로(plus zero) 타이어 사이즈로, 원래 휠에 장착되면서 외경이 거의 변하지 않음. 타이어 비교 도구를 사용하면 현재 타이어가 표준 타이어보다 약 2cm 넓고 외경 차이는 0.45% 정도임. 이 차량에서는 속도계 수치에 매우 미미한 차이만 발생할 것으로 예상됨. 외관상으로는 더 넓은 타이어가 림에서 약간 더 볼록하게 튀어나올 수 있으나 실질적인 주행 문제는 없음. 스페어 타이어도 거의 문제없이 사용 가능하며, 장거리 주행 시에도 안전성 문제는 거의 없을 것으로 판단됨. 공기압 차이(44 vs 45 PSI)도 실무적으로 무시할 수 있는 수준.
