Love the car OP. Been a big fan of this era 6 since I first saw them on Top Gear about 20 years ago. I bought a 2008 convertible 650 last year and still super pleased with it. I'd argue the coupe is a bit better looking though but I couldn't resist a convertible. More recently bought a 640d GC as my daily car which is proving to be very good, similar blue to yours! Interestingly, the gear change in your one is the same as my later 6 as my 2008 has the old school gear stick that moves physically into each "gear" rather than the up and down switch style. Either way, cool car!

Cheers Grant; it is a nice motor and that's what made me jump for it when I saw it via the pictures etcIt's going to get the suspension overhaul done sooner rather than later; crawling around under it Sat morning showed me the age of a lot of the parts and its time for a refresh, think I'm going to do what I did with our F31 too and that's go for Bilstein B4S shocks with Eibach pro-kit springsIt's a GT car and I want to retain that comfort and smoothness; it's not a B road 'nooligan I have toyed with a remap; but there's part of me that thinks what for as well; it's more than powerful enough now. But I will get the xHP box map done as that should really smoothen out the gear changes and make them more crisp; it's quite lazy as it standsI have always thought the gear changes on my 635d were pretty sharp when flicked across into manual and with the gearbox Sport button pushed.. granted they're not quite modern ZF8/DCT level, but an absolutely vast chasm between the gearchanges in the E63 and the E91 335i which I had. They use the same gearbox (I believe) but the E91 didn't have the sport button and the changes were absolutely hellishly slow and slurry... I hadn't heard about xHP back then, which I'm sure would have fixed the issue; but that car was a jinx full stop so it was just nice to get rid of it.My E63 has now drifted out of MOT, so I need to get my finger out and organise get

Some other manufacturers like Volvo and Mercedes were well known for them tooHowever, this evening I randomly found the following image of a Talbot Solaro, and it got me thinking about what other cars are there where headlight wipers were availableA few others that spring to mind:Any other obscure ones?

Priced at £5000 less with some stonking finance deals, it should have done better.....but was it just too expensive to build? The big gap between the outgoing cars and the new one is a good idea and possibly intentional to create the biggest possible impact. I think this is going to do very well indeed. I'm looking forward to it, and seeing my first one on the road. If they couldn't build cars well enough to compete with Audi, BMW, and Mercedes or lo

I've got my Phaeton with the 6HP to do soon, a bit more involved as a job, but it's already had a box and a torque converter in the last 50k, so it hasn't been left forever without maintenance - I've heard the 6HP19s seem to like to give trouble! It's my first torque converter auto (in 70 cars of manuals, and 1 DSG!)If I'd kept my old E320cdi I'd have certainly ended up getting the gearbox serviced. I bought it with 104k on

The Mk3 Astra and Cavalier are so similar (especially at the front) that only a true car nerd would know or care, but the Saab has an Astra rear beam, clear as day. The GTE's beam would fit right on for example, and the way the handbrake cables work are the same. A Cavalier sort of uses a single cable, Astra/ Saab uses one for each wheel. But then Saab added 5mm spacers each side at the rear, to make it the same as a Cavalier....It's very odd.Well I for one have learnt somethin
