And you appear to have a blindfold which prevents you from reading posts properly - I suggested it vanishes for days, not the entire winter. This is a well understood phenomenon, the Germans even have a word for it - dunkelflaute, caused by static high pressure systems in deepest darkest winter. Hydro isn't particularly huge in the UK and calling biomass renewable is a little tenuous considering it's shipped here from Canada. Fair to say for a significant part of the winter we'll be burning gas - which could be an issue if we can't get any.
