I've had a day exploring and tinkering with my "Bentley Brooklands R Mulliner Jack Barclay Special washing and dodging rain showers. As suspected now that it's been washed is it's not perfect, but I didn't think it would be as it's an old Crewe built car, it's tidy/presentable and there is nothing that requires immediate attention. It's had some paintwork but nothing as bad as a car I did a round trip of 450 miles to view for sale at a RR/Bentley specialist, a that car was 9 years older, had 9,000 more miles on the clock and more expensive to buy that this car. when I told the vendor I wasn't interested it was too rough he spat out his dummy and told me to stop looking... I re-fitted the lid of the air filter which wasn't seated properly, I re-fitted a headlamp seal that was off, washed the outside, vacuumed the interior and the rain started so I took Brodie for a walk. When I returned I had a look at the rear seat entertainment system and haven't a clue but as I will never be in there I'm really not bothered. The sun came out and time for a couple of purple pics before it goes back into the garage.In cloudy weather the car looks black from a distance, blue from close upBut when the sun shines (which doesn't happen very often due to all the global warming) the Amethyst colour pops and it looks amazingI understand why but I don't know why they decided to fit separate rugs instead of a moulded carpets. Under the Lambswool rugs are mats, under the mats are more mats. Each part separate and replaceable so if one has an incident and spoils the carpet then Jeeves will simply replace the offending section. At a guess there must be around 16 separate parts to the carpet... Personally I feel it would have looked better with a moulded carpet. I've removed the Lambswool rug from the driver side and placed an old rubber mat for my mucky feet, I'm not posh enough to require such luxuries and I can't be 4rsed cleaning it every time I get in and out the car.
