I'd prepare/budget a bit more in case.It may mean browsing the likes of Facebook Marketplace, looking for cars that are for spares/repair on ebay etc and factoring any repair costs into your overall outlay. You could end up quids in if you're lucky, but it has always been the case with ebay etc that you may be up against car flippers. I remember 'PX to clear' being a feature of an advert or a popular search term on ebay etc. Many used car dealerships will have part exchanges sitting in their yards before they are typically sold off. My current shed is a former PX that was listed on ebay for £500 5 years ago and it had been used as their yard car. It needed a bit of minor tinkering (second-hand driver window switch and new battery), but nothing prohibitive or that broke the bank. It has proven to be a really good car for what I need. There's one dealership I know and from whom I bought a proper car 19 years ago that always has an eclectic number of shed PXs in the back yard, many of which never seem to move. I know there is a possibility of negotiating something as and when. It's in Leeds, if you're from around there, and I can send you their details in a DM if so. Places like that are worth checking out before enquiring with staff whether they'd be happy to sell you whichever PX you want for a reduced price. The alternative is usually sending them to auction.Whilst I would say live auctions have no shortage of shed cars for less money, it's still a matter of beating the car flippers and not falling victim to ghost/phantom bidders.
