Hello everyone! Remember me? Well, the faithful old M5 is still here and has had almost another year of fun pass under its wheels since the last update. To be honest, thereโs not been a massive amount to report really, but I like to keep this thread updated from time-to-time As is becoming something of an annual tradition, I fitted the roofrack and took the M5 to pick up a Christmas tree late last year (as is the usual time of year to do these things, I understand). It wonโt be long before the lads can help me strap it down โ until then, Iโll make do with mild heckling.Whilst I mostly work fro
Adventures of leggy M5s continuedโฆBack in May, one of my eldest sons managed to poke himself in the eye with a stick โ with enough force that warranted a trip to the eye clinic at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford. Anyone whoโs had the pleasure of dealing with the JRโs carpark will no doubt understand my pride at this particular parking jobโฆNo under-trays were harmed. And he was also fine, the little pillock Fast forward a few weeks, and I had cause to meet up with my buddy Pete (pistolpete12 of this parish) and head up to that there Yorkshire and poke around a friendโs new project house. His little K-swapped MR2 is a proper mental little thing That was it for a few weeks, until I had the opportunity for another little road trip poke its head above the parapet in the form of a little working holiday. First up, we need a stickerโฆ.And, of course, the obligatory tunnel shot:The first stop was a night in Bruges โ a beautifully scenic place with some very tight underground parking โฆand a couple of interesting little spots along the way:After that, it was back onto the motorway and up to Amsterdam for a few days. Iโve been to the Netherlands several times but this was my first time driving and, I have to say, it was a bit of a chore. 100km/h limits most of the way, scarce service stations and just enough traffic to not be able to relax into a cruise meant Iโll probably just take the plane next time, but nonetheless the old M took everything in its stride. After initially parking in The Wrong Place (and getting an 80 euro fine for my troubleโฆ) I found a spot just outside the airBNB where it sat for a few days quite happily. Another canal-side spot:The drive back was a tad easier, but the tunnel was a complete st-show made slightly more palatable by being next to this lovely thing in the passport queue:We got home after 800 faultless miles, with the odometer showing a neat 189,250 miles. I still bloody love this thing.

Toyed with doing this for ages! Hope you like it. Here goes... Before getting to my current cars, I always love the threads where people share their car history, so here's mine! Unfortunately I don't have pictures for all of them so I've pointed out where I've shamelessly borrowed from Google image search. Where possible the images are exactly as my cars were. So, first up...Nissan Micra K10 1.0 | 1985 | 50 BHP | 79 BHP per Ton | 0-60 in 13.6Image from GoogleHanded down from my older sister, this was my first car. Fantastic car to aquire. I've always admired these, it's a fantastic design and the interior is just brilliant. I was wondering which car was going to need your soon-to-be-aquired welding skills.

Without really looking for it, I am now the lucky owner of a 166:I wasn't looking for another car. Honest! But this was too good an opportunity to pass up...as it was free. Yes, free - but of course needs a fair amount of work.As you can see from my threads on PH I am fortunate to have a diverse fleet: some in storage, some away for long time work and a lucky rotation at home according to seasons and requirements. Coming up for 10 years ago I started my first thread in Reader's Cars on my 164, saved from the tail end of the scrappage scheme that cut a swathe through neo-classics. It started my
