증상
고속 주행 중(시속 60-80마일) 브레이크 작동 시 스티어링 휠과 발에 심한 진동 발생. 고속에서 브레이크 시 뚫림 느낌도 있음. 저속(시속 30-40마일)에서는 브레이크 작동 시 부드러움. 시속 40마일 이상에서만 진동 발생하며 속도가 높을수록 악화됨.
처리 내용
워프된 브레이크 디스크를 의심할 수 있지만 저속에서도 진동이 있어야 함. 신호등에 정지할 때 마치 브레이크를 약간 밟았다 뗐다를 반복하는 듯한 걸림이 있는지 확인. 저속 진동은 파워 스티어링(특히 드라이브 바이 와이어 방식)에 의해 마스킹될 수 있음. 확인 방법: 차량 전면을 들고 누군가가 타이어를 손으로 돌릴 수 있을 정도로 약하게 브레이크를 작동시키되 여전히 디스크에 닿을 정도로 유지. 저항이 증가했다 감소하면 디스크 워프 확실. 브레이크 토크가 서스펜션 부품에 하중을 가했다가 해제되는 것일 수도 있음. 고무 서스펜션 부품 손상, 느슨함, 마모 여부 확인. 캘리퍼와 패드가 올바르게 장착되고 단단히 고정되었는지 확인. ABS 시스템도 의심 가능(특히 강한 브레이킹 시). ABS가 오작동하거나 안전 모드에 갇혀있을 수 있음. 추가 진단 필요.

Lovely ready and I love your choice!! The E60 was one of the best M5s I ever had - On road and track Use it, and enjoy every moment of the magnificent engine!! I did more track days in my E60 than all my other cars in the past combined I would hazard a guess at. So many fond memories. My advice, put a decent set of brakes on it, I ended up with 12 Piston Calipers and 400mm rotas with all the track days I did and it really transformed it and the confidence it gave to the car.

I'm very observant when driving or walking, the other day I walked my son to school alongside a busy road, I reckon 80% of the cars that passed me were looking down at phones. I had a van pull out on me on a roundabout a few months ago and then slam his brakes on, phone clearly visible so I submitted the footage to TVP and to my surprise they sent me a letter confirming a prosecution. The amount of times I've had to swerve recently because of cars swerving onto my side of the road is diabolical.
