증상
모터바이크가 자갈밭에 심하게 충돌한 후 포크(fork)와 트리플 클램프(triple clamp)가 구부러졌을 가능성 있음. 포크와 트리플 클램프의 손상을 정확하게 진단하는 방법 필요.
처리 내용
Ducati Hypermotard 1100의 포크는 스탠션(stanchion), 포크 튜브, 부트(boot) 3개의 주요 부품으로 구성됨. 스탠션은 알루미늄 제작으로 보호가 잘 되어 손상이 거의 없음. 부트는 균열이나 나선 손상 등 눈에 띄는 손상 흔적이 보임. 포크 튜브는 강철 재질임. 구부러진 것을 판단하는 것이 직선인지 확인하는 것보다 쉬움. 먼저 바이크 앞뒷부분을 스탠드로 지지함 (http://www.pit-bull.com/category/motorcycle_stands.html 참고). 앞뒷부분이 지지된 후 앞바퀴를 제거함. 다시 설치할 때 매우 어려우면 포크 튜브가 크게 구부러진 것. 다음으로 각 포크를 바이크에서 분리함. 몸무게로 전체 행정(travel)을 움직여보면 됨. 자유롭게 움직이지 않으면 포크 튜브가 구부러진 것. 포크 튜브 캡을 제거할 수 있으면 튜브가 움직임을 확인할 수 있음.
