자동변속기 자동차를 주차할 때 핸드브레이크만 사용하고 P(주차) 기어를 사용하지 않으면 안 되는 이유는 무엇인가?

변속기를 P(주차) 기어에 넣으면 '파킹 폴(parking pawl)' - 즉, 변속기 출력축(따라서 구동 바퀴)을 제자리에 고정시키는 금속 핀이 작동합니다. 이것이 존재하는 이유는 핸드브레이크를 보완하는 추가적인 자동차 구름 방지 장치로 설계되었기 때문입니다(핸드브레이크는 보통 뒷바퀴에 실제 제동력을 가합니다). 핸드브레이크와 파킹 폴 중 하나가 작동하지 않아도 자동차가 구르는 것을 방지할 수 있는 이중 안전장치라는 개념입니다. 일반 브레이크처럼 핸드브레이크도 반복 사용으로 마모되어 효과가 감소하는데, 운전자가 이를 즉시 감지하지 못할 수 있으므로 추가 안전장치가 있으면 도움이 됩니다.

Lovely ready and I love your choice!! The E60 was one of the best M5s I ever had - On road and track Use it, and enjoy every moment of the magnificent engine!! I did more track days in my E60 than all my other cars in the past combined I would hazard a guess at. So many fond memories. My advice, put a decent set of brakes on it, I ended up with 12 Piston Calipers and 400mm rotas with all the track days I did and it really transformed it and the confidence it gave to the car.

I'm very observant when driving or walking, the other day I walked my son to school alongside a busy road, I reckon 80% of the cars that passed me were looking down at phones. I had a van pull out on me on a roundabout a few months ago and then slam his brakes on, phone clearly visible so I submitted the footage to TVP and to my surprise they sent me a letter confirming a prosecution. The amount of times I've had to swerve recently because of cars swerving onto my side of the road is diabolical.
