증상
2006년 F1 월드챔피언십 규정에서 허용된 뉴매틱 밸브스프링 시스템. 90도 V8 2.4L 엔진, 실린더당 4밸브, 실린더 뱅크당 2개의 오버헤드 캠샤프트, 뉴매틱 밸브스프링 사용. 시즌 말미에 20,000 RPM 이상 회전. 20,000 RPM에서 포핏 밸브의 왕복 질량 구동이 거의 불가능해 보임. F1 엔지니어들이 이러한 밸브를 어떻게 설계 및 작동시켰는가?
처리 내용
일반 밸브스프링은 F1에 부적합. 뉴매틱 밸브스프링은 실제로 스프링이 없음. 대신 가압된 질소 챔버를 사용하여 캠샤프트가 작동한 후 밸브를 폐쇄 위치로 복귀. 일반 밸브스프링(좌측)과 뉴매틱 시스템(우측) 비교 도표 참조. 가압 챔버는 다이어그램의 "121"로 표시됨. 작동 원리: 밸브 개방 - 캠은 특별하지 않으며, 버킷-심 또는 캠 팔로워 설계를 사용하여 일반 자동차와 동일하게 작동. 밸브 폐쇄 - 스프링 대신 고압 가스만을 사용하여 밸브를 폐쇄 위치로 밀어냄. 뉴매틱 밸브트레인 F1 엔진 분해 시, 밸브가 피스톤과 충돌하는 것을 방지하기 위해 원격 가스 실린더를 연결해야 함. 가압 리저버 사용.
