E90 was not the best-looking generation of 3-series. Most models looked under-wheeled.

Did that have the same issue and what are the implications. I believe the N52 (and possibly the M54) have hydraulic valve lifters which can give a ticking / tapping noise if the oil has drained away. Mine has only done it occasionally where it’s not been driven for a while, and it goes away after a couple of mins of normal driving, so a non-issue. It’s not age / wear related, more of a characteristic. I guess if the ticking doesn’t go away that would be more of an issue.

I try to be as objective as I can with cars, not carry over any prejudices but like in all aspects of life (clothing, food, drink, electrical/audio equipment etc), there are brands that I am more drawn to and have more of an affinity/fondness with for varying reasons.
