엔진 냉간 시동 후 몇 순간 동안 유휴 RPM이 약간 높음. 6개월 이상 방치된 차량은 시동 후 RPM이 훨씬 높으며 정상 RPM에 도달하는 데 수 분이 소요되고, 안정화되는 동안 RPM이 올랐다 내렸다를 반복함.
냉간 상태에서 엔진의 연소 효율이 떨어지기 때문에 ECU가 RPM을 높여 실화를 방지합니다. 주요 원인은 연료 기화입니다. 연료는 91°C(196°F)에서 기화되며, 기화되지 않은 액체 연료는 연소하지 않습니다. 냉간 시동 시 ECU는 추가 연료를 분사하고(리치 혼합기), 점화 타이밍을 조정합니다. 이는 엔진 출력을 감소시키므로 높은 유휴 RPM이 필요합니다. 오래 방치된 차량에서 RPM이 오르내리는 현상은 ECU가 입출력값을 보정하려는 과정입니다. 스로틀바디의 소형 솔레노이드가 냉간 시 공기를 추가로 공급하여 RPM을 높입니다. 냉간 시 센서(특히 산소센서)가 정상 범위 밖이거나 작동하지 않을 수 있습니다. 산소센서는 충분히 가열되어야만 정상 작동을 시작합니다.
