I need to allow a relative to drive my car for a day at the end of the month, I have spoken to my insurer and on principle they allow this as long a it is specific temporary cover as the underwriter doesn't allow dual insurance.How does this work? Any stand out companies that you have used?

Unless the relative is a much higher risk profile to you (age, points etc), it can be cheaper just to add them as a named driver for the remaining duration of the normal policy. That works only if they hold a GB licence though.There is obviously a small risk of them crashing and causing you to lose no claims discount, but there is the same risk every time you take the car out yourself. If I thought a relative or friend was at a significantly risk of crashing my car than I was, I'd not be lending it to them!
