I've noticed bike insurance online quotes asking for continuous riding experience and not just NCD this year.In their terms experience is not continuous if there is an insurance gap of more than 2 months. Seems strange as I'd have thought they would be happy for people not to be on the road over winter. I think there will be loads of bikers who have sold at the end of winter and wait until spring to pick up a new bike.I don't know what kind of loading they would put on for a gap but being off for the winter doesn't make you a bad rider.Besides that bike insurance has gone up a lot vs this time

E-bmw said: TBH, I have heard lots over the years about insurance pricing and on the whole disagree.My car insurance has remained stubbornly in the high £200s to low £300s for around 20 years over a range of cars from highly modified track day cars to a lowly Volve v40.The only exception being my motorhome which actually went from mid £300s to low £200s at renewal time last summer, we will see what happens this year in August.Thats been similar in costs for us over the same period, DL often increase the premium and if the increase is IMO unreasonable i do a comparison and get on the blower to them, so far its worked for our cars but not oddly enough home insurance, in their favour there was no charge and no admin charge when we put alternative alloys on our new car, their call centre people have always been nice to deal with (hope that doesn't change), i'd rather stay with them than shift so if a couple of hours faffing around is all that takes well worth the time.Considering the risks involved and the chaos of modern traffic i think our insurance premiums are very good value, we insure both cars for less than the VED alone on our 18 year old Forester.
