증상
브레이크 패드가 디스크에 완전히 접촉하지 않으며 디스크 외부로 튀어나와 있음. 패드의 수명은 충분하지만 간헐적인 그라인딩 음이 들림. (99년식 포드 에스코트)
처리 내용
브레이크 로터가 녹에 의해 복구 불가능한 수준으로 손상됨. 벤트홀이 녹으로 가득 찬 상태로, 로터의 냉각이 제대로 이루어지지 않아 번닝, 워핑, 패드 소재 과열 및/또는 로터 표면으로의 패드 소재 전이가 발생할 수 있음. 패드 외연이 외경을 약간 넘어가는 것이 브레이크 효율에는 문제가 되지 않지만, 소음과 조기 마모를 유발할 수 있으므로 정비 필요. 패드 외연은 외경으로부터 약 2mm 정도 떨어진 위치에서 멈춰야 함. 따라서 브레이크 로터와 새 패드를 교체해야 함. 신규 로터의 외경이 다소 크게 나왔거나 과열이나 기타 손상의 징후가 없다면 기존 패드를 재사용할 수 있음.

2019 Dodge Ram 5.7L HEMI, 100km 미만. 브레이크 작업 후 시운전 중 풀 스로틀로 0-70mph까지 한 번 가속 후 발생. 엔진 미스파이어 시작, 체크 엔진 라이트 깜박임. 리듬컬한 탭탭탭 소리 발생(collapsed lifter 유사음). 2/3 스로틀 이상에서만 발생, 정상 주행 시에는 미스만 있고 해머링음 없음.

Lovely ready and I love your choice!! The E60 was one of the best M5s I ever had - On road and track Use it, and enjoy every moment of the magnificent engine!! I did more track days in my E60 than all my other cars in the past combined I would hazard a guess at. So many fond memories. My advice, put a decent set of brakes on it, I ended up with 12 Piston Calipers and 400mm rotas with all the track days I did and it really transformed it and the confidence it gave to the car.

I'm very observant when driving or walking, the other day I walked my son to school alongside a busy road, I reckon 80% of the cars that passed me were looking down at phones. I had a van pull out on me on a roundabout a few months ago and then slam his brakes on, phone clearly visible so I submitted the footage to TVP and to my surprise they sent me a letter confirming a prosecution. The amount of times I've had to swerve recently because of cars swerving onto my side of the road is diabolical.

I think it is a shame to lose one of the distinctive features of the 944 (the wrap around rear screen).Proportions from rear three-quarters are also a bit too Scimitar for my taste but each to their own.
