Thanks to those who compared ICE and EV cars. Completely different!The new I3 is such a clean looking thing - shades of the original Lexus IS200 from the side. It does make the new 3 ICE look rather bulbous (although it's cleanly surfaced along the side). I get the Alfa Giulia comparisons too, but like many others, I think the Alfa is by some way the better looking car - more cohesive and balanced. But this car lacks the cohesive and resolved design of the EV. You can tell, when side by side with the EV that the new 3 is a facelift, and a slightly awkward one at that, trying to force a Neue Klasse language onto the G20 platform. I do think it's a touch unfair to call this car "ugly, gopping, fugly" etc. These words should be reserved for the truly eye-destroying designs like the BMW XM, iX, i7 and the like. I'd say that there are elements of this car that are ungainly, ill-fitting etc, but I'm not sure I would go so far as to say it's ugly. I also believe that the car won't look quite as bad in the flesh. I'd also like to state that for me, the G20 front was by no means attractive, The grille, especially in black, looked like the lips of a Grouper fish, which is fine if you're a fish, but not a svelte exec saloon. The notches at the bottom of the front lights also looked fussy. The F80 was the last good looking 3 overall, while the E90 saloon* (apart from the M cars) had very odd headlight and a saloon rear end that looked like a Mitsubushi Carisma, not a car that rated highly in the "phwoar, look at that" stakes.
