Follwed a Vauxhall Astra van this morning for a 1/4 of my commute, down a lovely country road with a 60 limit, it never got above 38mph, mostly 32/33 Then drove through a 30mph limit village at... yep, you guessed it, 38mph!! LOL. Ironically, he also had VXR Racing sticker stuck on the back?? Just as my commute was coming to an end, I ended up in line of 4 or 5 cars, the one at the front dawdling on green L plates so newly passed, but was swerving right into the left hand edge and braking every time an oncoming vehicle approached. Is that how we are teaching people to drive these days FFS?! I
Solocle said: dcb said: Time is money. It would have been a faster and cheaper journey inFrance and even faster and cheaper in Germany. The Brits may be speed control obsessed, but the French and the Germans aren't. Their gain.Your numbers indicate you spent about 29% of your drive stuckbehind 56 mph lorries. Plausible.Using your numbers, you could have got there 28 minutes earlier,by sticking to the French 130 kmh limit. That near half an hourof lost time might have been worth £10 to you.Or about 58 minutes earlier on the German autobahn average of 150 kmh.Nearly an hour of lost time might be worth £20 to you.500 km at 150 km/h, let's see, that's easily going to burn through £20 extra worth of petrol and then some.Sure, if you're driving an EV, then "petrol" is cheap, but the extra time spent charging will kill much of the time saving.Time is life, which could be spent doing something else rather than travelling unnecessarily slowly. I don't count the cost in financial terms, I count it in time wasted because of the inability of others towards the task at hand. It isn't difficult is what annoys me about them. Lane discipline, use of mirrors, general observation, concentration, and courtesy. A modicum of natural ability and learning ability would help, but let's not pretend there's much of any of the above on general display. The test should be stricter, and the penalties for failing to make the required effort once passed should be higher. People behave the way they do because the consequences aren't worthy of the word.

Lovely ready and I love your choice!! The E60 was one of the best M5s I ever had - On road and track Use it, and enjoy every moment of the magnificent engine!! I did more track days in my E60 than all my other cars in the past combined I would hazard a guess at. So many fond memories. My advice, put a decent set of brakes on it, I ended up with 12 Piston Calipers and 400mm rotas with all the track days I did and it really transformed it and the confidence it gave to the car.

I'm very observant when driving or walking, the other day I walked my son to school alongside a busy road, I reckon 80% of the cars that passed me were looking down at phones. I had a van pull out on me on a roundabout a few months ago and then slam his brakes on, phone clearly visible so I submitted the footage to TVP and to my surprise they sent me a letter confirming a prosecution. The amount of times I've had to swerve recently because of cars swerving onto my side of the road is diabolical.

I think it is a shame to lose one of the distinctive features of the 944 (the wrap around rear screen).Proportions from rear three-quarters are also a bit too Scimitar for my taste but each to their own.

Love shooting brakes where the change doesn't detract from the original or adds something like the Z3 "clowns shoe"or this:but a thought, they've modified the " chassis"or monocoque, so i this ry would it have to go through IVA
