Gearbox failure is common and the belts need doing every 5 years I think. Belts are around 1k I think. Gearbox a bit more.

Kuwahara said: A few posts back I think I had the Megane RS 300 as an example so did the dutiful and signed up on the RS280/300 forum that was the deal breaker ,I know you only hear of the issues but they seem to need constant maintenance and niggles that need looked at before they become major.Some parts seem to be a real ball ache also..look lovely though Most forums are full of that stuff though. They are probably the ideal places not to go.
