증상
자동차를 잭으로 올리고 액슬 스탠드에 거는 작업이 불안하고 두렵다. 특히 Mk1 Escort의 리어 서스펜션 로워링 블록을 교체할 때 잭 위치와 액슬 스탠드 설치 위치를 정확히 알기 어렵다.
처리 내용
1990년대 초 Mk5 Cortina를 잭으로 들다가 손상된 잭 포인트가 실(sill)을 부수는 경험이 있다. 가능하면 트레일링 암이나 서브프레임을 잭 포인트로 사용하는 것이 안전하다. 리어 빔 구조(소형 Fiat, Renault 등)를 가진 차는 가장 다루기 쉽다. 2008년형 Alfa GT의 경우 프론트 잭 손상이 있었는데, 실 커버에 표시는 되어 있지만 실제 잭 포인트는 실(sill)로부터 약 10cm 안쪽에 있다. 많은 차량에서 이 위치에 크러시 손상이 발생한다. 작업 전에 정확한 잭 포인트 위치를 확인하고, 잭 포인트가 손상되지 않은지 검사하는 것이 중요하다.
