Whether that be a walk to stretch your legs, grab a sandwich, freshen up, have a piss.I guess its more polite to say in company than "shall we take a break for a piss".Good for you RE: not stopping every three hours. The Highway Code, Brake, the RAC etc recommend stopping every two hours for 15 minutes to avoid fatigue. Last very big runs we did was from Stranraer up in Scotland to Southampton and i think we stopped every 2 to 2.5 hours or so.The legal requirement for professional drivers that run on a Tacho is that you can do 4 and half hours driving but must then have a 45 minute break. The legal amount of driving duty in a day is 9 hours which can be increased to 10 hours twice a week.This is legally safe by the powers that be for people driving 44 tonnes so not sure why it would be any different for car drivers. I did Lincs to Avonmouth last week which is 3 hours 45 minutes. I even had a brew on the go on the way there. Didn't need to stop for a piss because my prostate is fine and I am not a diabetic. Obviously everyone is different. Some people need to stop. Some do not. Some people live to 100. Some people are done by 70. Everyone's body is different. Do what you feel is comfortable in the end. For me I have no issue sticking on some podcasts and munching up the miles. Id rather be home or at my destination earlier.

my plan this year was to retire my current car - Golf GTI - to summer use only and buy another daily driver. I've got a list of things done to the Mondeo to get it feeling a tad nicer and more roadworthy.£200 - 2 new front tyres. Opted for Firestone Roadhawk's£35 - New roof aerial base and aerial as the old is corroded to the point it'll be letting in water soon£45 - New carpet mats direct from Ford£21 - Bosch aerotwin wiper blades£10 - Oil filter (got some oil in the garage!)£310 total spend. I'm happy with that. Not gonna bother taxing it until the 1st October as it's £410 for the year... But then it'll be on the road! Now just need to flog the E90 BMW 318i....
