Any plate that is delaminated, faded, dirty, obscured by fixings, uses illegal spacing, or features non-standard 3D/two-tone fonts that interfere with ANPR cameras will result in an immediate MOT failure.This rule aims to stop "ghost MOTs", meaning illegal, non-compliant, faded, or customized plates will be clearly exposed on government records.

2005 BMW X3가 극저온 날씨 후 시동이 걸리지 않음. 배터리 교체 및 예비 키로 시동 시도했으나 여전히 시동 불가. 엔진은 회전하지만 착화 안 됨. 추운 날씨 전에는 정상 작동함.
BMW X3(2007, 7만km)의 저수위 냉각수 경고등이 최근 며칠간 간헐적으로 켜짐. 경고등이 계속 켜있지는 않음. 냉각수 저수지 점검 결과 플로트 스틱이 'LOW' 라인 약간 아래에 위치하나 여전히 떠있고 냉각수 남아있음. 1년 전 BMW 정식 서비스 외부에서 엔진 가스켓 교체 작업 수행함.
BMW 딜러샵에서 신규 애프터마켓 배터리는 온보드 컴퓨터에 등록해야 한다고 주장함. 등록하지 않으면 차량이 구 배터리가 여전히 장착된 것으로 인식하여 잘못된 충전 방식으로 작동한다는 설명. 1년간 미등록 애프터마켓 배터리를 사용한 BMW X3에서 테스트 결과: 시동 전 전압 12.0V, 시동 후 알터네이터 충전 시 전압 14.0V로 상승.
