Either way, I can understand why folk don't like either of them though in fairness. The small car is too small, and big car is too big arguably for me. I don t think the Smart is too small. I do think it s a silly looking thing with stupid proportions. The JLR product will be better in every way, but is unnecessarily big for most users most of the time. Certainly in UK urban environments. I had a Smart EV once as a loan

If you and your wife do 20k miles between you each year (i.e. 50% above UK average), you'd both have to drive for 50 years to have a 50/50 chance of an injury-reportable accident, and 250 years to have a 50/50 chance of a serious-injury accident. As with a conversation on another thread a few months back, people are very bad at judging real risk / probabilities. And let us not forget that a larger vehicle comes with issues such as longer to stop, wider, less manoeuvrable, higher CoG and more likely to flip over, and the all time classic of worse driving as you think you are safer...And we already know that something like a Range Rover is far far worse for pedestrians - and we know that large SUV's are more likely to kill their own kids while manoeuvring ( https://www.leedsscp.org.uk/driveways ).So yeah. I am not convinced any SUV is 'safer'...
