증상
'04 캐벌리어, 주행거리 115K. 타이어는 양호하고 편마모 없음. 고속도로에서 저음역대 윙윙거리는 음성. 처음엔 좌회전할 때만 발생했으나 지금은 직진 중에도 발생. 우회전할 때는 사라짐. 진동 없음. 5년 전에 유사 증상이 있었고 우측 전륜 허브 어셈블리 교체 후 해결됨. 2년 전부터 증상 재발. RF 허브를 다시 교체했으나 호전 없음.
처리 내용
첫 번째 점검 항목은 휠 베어링임. 후륜 베어링일 가능성이 높음. '06 폰티악에서 유사 문제를 경험했는데 휠 허브(베어링 포함)가 생각보다 저렴하고 교체가 쉬웠음. 전륜 베어링과 동일한 방식으로 후륜 베어링도 점검 가능함. 두 번째 점검 항목은 CV 조인트임. CV 부트에 작은 크랙이 있어서 파편이 유입되지 않았더라도 습기가 침투하여 그리스가 손실되면 회전 시 특히 코너링할 때 음성이 발생할 수 있음. CV 부트에 크랙이나 파손이 있는지 육안 점검 가능. Zerk 피팅이 있다면 그리스를 추가 주입하여 수명을 연장할 수도 있음.
