Quote the opposite, by commiting to wind and ride were making ourselves reliant on imported gas.Yes we need to import uranium too, but once imported were not reliant for a decade or three.I'd love to be wrong, it would be fantastic if would could be totally self sufficient in energy. (And food.) Obvs keeping our population low would help with both.I'm hoping we will have many Small Modular Reactors around the place in a few years time.I understand that they can be made to run on the 'spent' fuel from first generation reactors, of which we have quite a lot hanging around. A sensible government would back the likes of Rolls Royce who seem to be at the forefront of this tech.Thanks, just googled and that's made my day. Maybe there is hope for us.Of course there's only about 250years worth of uranium on the planet. Let's hope they sort out fusion power.
