증상

바위를 치어 타이어가 파손되었고 스틸 림이 손상됨. 리어 휠이고 차는 FWD 세단. 손상된 림 하나만 교체할 수 있는지, 아니면 페어(matched pair) 2개를 교체해야 하는지 확인 필요. 차량 밸런싱 상태 확인 필요.

처리 내용

림이 심하게 손상되지 않았다면 수리 가능성 먼저 확인. 찌그러짐이나 약간의 변형만 있다면 무거운 해머와 라운드 펀치로 수정 가능. 스크래치 부분에 페인트칠하고 처리 완료. 타이어샵에서 체크 및 밸런싱 작업 필요. 과도한 양의 웨이트가 필요하지 않다면 문제없음. 림에 크랙이 보이면 폐기. 스크랩 메탈로 재활용 가능. 새 림 구입 필요시, 리어 휠이고 FWD 차량이므로 크기나 무게에 대해 너무 걱정할 필요 없음. 프론트였다면 크기 차이로 장기간 디퍼렌셜 손상 가능, 무게 차이로 가속/감속시 휠의 관성 차이로 영향 미칠 수 있음. 새 타이어 장착시 크기가 차량의 다른 휠과 유사한지 확인 필수.
